For over 18 months, I was on the creative team that brought the Cactus Plant Flea Market Box — a collaboration between McDonald’s and CPFM — to life. The limited-edition meal, also known as the “Adult Happy Meal,” featured a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, soft drink, and one of four mystery collectibles: Birdie, Hamburglar, Grimace, and CPFM’s mascot, Cactus Buddy!
We also worked with director Dan Streit on a 30-second spot, titled Drive-Thru With Friends, that features all four characters driving to McDonald’s to get the meal. The CPFM Box sold out nationwide in one week and was featured on Hypebeast, Good Morning America, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, along with other outlets, and was No. 11 on AdWeek’s The 30 Best Ads of 2022 list. The campaign recently won Best Brand/Product Launch 2023 at AdAge’s A-List & Creativity Awards.
